Ay yi yi, I'm going nuts!

First and foremost, my computer is kaput for now. We thought it was the power cord, since I've had to adjust it for the thing to take any sort of a charge, but it finally crapped out. So we bought a new cord. That didn't work at all. So we figured it was the battery. I'd have to order one online, which would run me close to $100. o_0 I told all these woes to a friend of mine, and he suggested that it's the power supply - which is located inside the laptop. Apparently there's a teeny little piece that may have been knocked out of place by my "ham-fisted shenanigans" that he says just needs to be soldered back. I'm scurred to crack the thing open, and have no idea how to solder, but he does and offered to fix it for me. I'm going to take it to him this weekend and hopefully that will fix it. So, for now, I'm playing with Mum's computer, which is super sweet.

I somehow cleverly managed to get FIVE DAYS OFF IN A ROW... FOR CHRISTMAS!! I worked the weekend before, and that means two days off in the week to keep hours. Since Friday was a holiday, which means paying, I was off Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday! It was spectacular. I did NOTHING of value. I mean, Christmas shopping and cooking was important, but whatever. Oh! That reminds me:

And I've been cooking and baking. 0_0 It's so weird. The ribs just needed heating in the oven, but I cooked the scalloped potatoes, baked beans, brocolli, and Pecan Puffs. I enjoyed it, actually! So much so that I came home today and baked. Three different things.

In the back are my mom's best friend's specialty: Chow Mein noodles mixed with peanuts and coated with chocolate. The little choco-balls are Rice Krispies and peanut butter dipped in melted chocolate almond bark (a recipe thanks to Jess!). The white balls are Pecan Puffs.

Also, I had no vanilla, so I used amaretto. HA!

To treat myself, I had some Veritaserum!

WHOOPS! Been a while since I've updated. Life, I suppose. Let's see, let's see.

Ah, yes. All the Christmas shopping is complete, except for one more item which Mom and I are splitting. They're wrapped and under the tree. See?

Yeah. The penguins were already there. *grin*

Work's been steady. Nothing too crazy. Apparently the H1N1 vaccine is coming in this week, though, so I'm prepared to kill people. I mean... yeah, I mean kill people. I've actually started working on some of my Continuing Education credits. I've gotten four done. YAY! Go me.

My wonderful thirty something year old Zenith television has officially died. Let's have a moment of silence. It was so lovely and I miss it dearly. But! Mom's best friend gave me their old one since they just recently bought a new one. It's about the same size, too, and FREE so you can't beat that!

And probably the best news: I've lost ten pounds!! I'm eating smaller portions and stopped snacking throughout the day, which I think is the secret. I haven't done my WiiFit in about a week (shame!) but I think being on my feet everyday at work should count as exercise.

Other than work and Christmas stuff, I've pretty much spent all my spare time watching all my seasons of Psych, hehe. I heart that show more and more. I needs it back pls!

My HPDFW group did do a Cosplay day a few weeks ago, and I went as Flapjack, because it so makes sense! Check me out: Whimsical Flapjack

I restarted my WiiFit today. I have discovered that my board's scale is completely off - by like, 35 pounds! Ah, well. I actually did the strength training. Ouch! I was only able to do about 25 minutes after that S.T. Yeesh! Plus, my "trainer" kept telling me to visualize my ideal body while doing it, so I'm thinking of hanging up a few pics of Mariska Hargitay on the wall as inspiration. Y/N?

Let's see.

Halloween was fun. Eva and Dallas turned their house into a haunted house, and T.C. and I were set for duty of getting people in. I got to scream. A lot. And I was dressed like Flapjack, which rocked all.

Work's been fine, too. Our relief pharmacist, Laura, has left us, though. :o( She got an offer as a staff pharmacist at a store closer to her place, so she left. She didn't want to, though. Ah well. Jess and I plan to meet up with her every month or so for dinner. She's awesome. We already miss her. Our new guy's cool, though.

Oh! Saw The Men Who Stare At Goats and laughed my ass off. Want to see it again, because I swear I missed parts from laughing so hard.

Also got to see the inside of a radio station while it was going on. A friend of Mom's from high school leant her a computer since hers died and he's the control guy for an online show every week. Was pretty cool to see.

Exciting news! Ellen had her baby on the 30th! Tobias Joel. He's so cute! I wish I were in England so that I can be the crazy American auntie. *babytalks Tobias*

Life.

Gramma's getting worse by the day. Her memory is just shot. And I'm getting extremely frustrated by having to repeat myself every ten minutes. We even have boards on our door rooms and in the kitchen saying what day it is and where we are, but she still asks. It's very hard. It's keeping me down. Anytime when I'm not actively doing anything, I think about it. I love my Gramma so much I hate to see her go through this.

We are completely broke, too. We had to pay for a few groceries tonight mostly in change. Mom and I could have done without it, but Gramma can't.

Work is better than it was. I still have a couple issues with people not fully pulling their weight, but it's not bothering me quite as much as it was, and I've had no insane customers lately. A few rude ones, but that's fine. I think since all of our flu vaccine is gone, the crazies are too.

I did, however, have a great weekend. Saturday was our HPDFW Halloween party, where I went as Moaning Myrtle, full ghost face makeup and all. We had a blast, as usual, and we managed not to scare away the new people! The party ended about midnight, where we headed downtown to a big block party. The costumes we saw were incredible! It was like Dragon*Con, only outside and with more drunks. Super fun, even though we got there near the end. I did learn, however, that heels are not my friend.

It's nice to have an escape like that for a while.

Eckeltricity went out yesternight. Yay fun times. o_0 Mom forgot to pay the bill. WHOOPS! Finally came on today around two in the afternoon.

Managed 32 minutes of yoga today. Have opened all of them, and only the dance remains, because I have horrendous balance. Still haven't managed to get all the way through the Balance Bubble. *shudder* I WILL BEAT IT ONE DAY!!! I topped off with twenty minutes on Free Step, while watching Modern Family from last week. I ♥ that show. The Wii Fit is totally awesome.

T.C. and I hung out for most of the day. We went clothes looking and then met up with Eva and Dallas for dinner and silliness ensued. Then to Wal-Mart and I acquired a penguin. Today was a success.

And now, I sleep. Because I said so.

I'm debating on if I want to put a diet blog on here as well. I mean, it would be nice to have it separate or whatever, but even still... meh. I haven't fully decided yet.

I am SO FRIGGIN TIRED today. I woke up at 5.30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep for almost two hours. I tried to do my Wii, but only managed four minutes I was hurting. I guess it's good, though, because I had to put up truck at work. Ouch.

I need to find a red and yellow shirt before Halloween. Help!

HeHe! I found both my Snape and Sherrif of Nottingham action figures. I went looking, but still! So now Sherrif is on the telly and Snape is by my computer.

Also? My mom has informed me that she has an entire Robin Hood box. She's cleaning and rearranging her room and I found some trading cards and stickers. I must see this box. Like NOW.

Our favourite movie, evah. Yeah.

I managed to do an hour on the Wii Fit today. Wee! I did the balance games for the first time. I still haven't touched the strength training, because OMG no. But it's still just uber-fun.

Work was... I don't know. Busy. Nobody particularly stood out. I've officially decided that closing sucks. I feel useless when all I'm doing is helping customers. Is that effed up? Hah. Probably, since I wouldn't have a job without customers.

I don't know. I'm sleepy. I've been in a slightly odd mood since work ended. I'm zoning out or something. Who knows.
